I tend to cosplay characters I have an interest in, meaning I will spend full evenings browsing through galleries of my favorite heroines on Deviant Art. A few weeks ago I was catching up on the new Zatanna tributes and was blown away to find a new piece that had more than a slight resemblance to yours truly. When checking through my notes and comments later that night, I realized that a few friends had already given me a heads that the amazingly talented artist Adriana Melo used my mug as reference for a stunning pinup.
I chatted with Adriana and she confirmed that she used my photo for reference, and said that she loves my cosplay so much that she wants to use another shot for a different illustration. This is a huge honor because she is the artist behind some of my favorite Witchblade covers. You can click on the example on the left to see it at full size.
Funny enough, the piece became somewhat popular and another artist, DrixArt, created a colored version of Adriana’s piece. Then another artist, Christinik2000, was further inspired by Adriana’s piece and created a sketch based off of hers. You can see all of them in the gallery below.

ah you like the pictures of adriana melo? I also love I covnerso with her sometimes, I’m Brazilian illustrator, as well as her. In fact she is designer and colorist work much better than me! Is a person to respect yourself! I love her art! which is also nice that you like! But damn! she uses her photos as reference? good! so the drawings of them are beautiful! ^
