First and foremost, I apologize to anyone who frequents my blog. Yes, I know it has been a ridiculously long time since I’ve updated. But wait! There is good reason! The last few months I have been keeping myself maddeningly busy preparing for San Diego Comic Con. I had intentions of updating the site prior to and during my trip…but obviously that didn’t work out. I am finally home and am done creating costumes for the time being (although Silk Specter and Black Canary are still on my list for this year), so it is back to regular updates!

Photo shoots have also been consuming my time. In a fevered moment of insanity I decided to try and shoot all my undocumented costumes before I left for SDCC–so not to fall behind. Keep in mind I have 5-7 characters that have not yet received the studio-shoot treatment. The same day I decided to make a dash to document my costumes I put out a casting call for makeup, hair and photographers for each look. The response was overwhelming and I ended up putting all seven of them on the calendar that same night. I have been shooting at least one costume a week, sometimes two, for the last month. And planning for SDCC. It has been busy.

But the stress and sleepless nights are behind me and I have some amazing (if I do say so myself) costumes and fantastic photos that make everything worth it. Still, there is much to catch up on. Read on for some pictures from Comic Con, teasers from recent shoots and a backlog of my work at Game Informer.

SDCC COSPLAY

I debuted three costumes at SDCC. On Thursday I wore Madame Mirage. On Friday I wore Magdalena and on Saturday I was part of a larger Witchblade group as Una, the first bearer. I have a full SDCC wrap-up with a gallery coming soon…so check back! Until then, here are a few teasers. I have some professional Magdalena shots from the con coming, and plan on setting up some studio time for each of these looks soon.

NON SDCC COSPLAY

Marie Antoinette: I shot this costume about a month ago and am still going through the photos and doing color correction and so on. Expect to see the full shoot very soon!

Witchblade Shoot: This was one of the more recent shoots I’ve done. I just got the CD of images back and am doing the same as above–going through and doing minor editing/cropping and color correction. I shot two looks that day, Sara Pezzini in her cop garb and Sara in her infamous red dress. I am very happy with the results! Also expect to see more from this one soon!

Aphrodite IX: One week after my Witchblade shoot I met up with the same makeup artist and photographer to shoot Aphrodite IX. It was amazing. The photographer made a three-foot gatling gun and my dad drove in his motorcycle for us to alter into a hover bike. I still haven’t received these images, but I would expect to get at least a teaser soon.

Elektra: I’m not going to lie, this costume has terrified me ever since I got photos back from Free Comic Book Day two years ago. So it sat in my closet. But I have been working my ass off and trimmed down a bit and decided to give the costume a go. I even had a male model for the shoot that I got to rough up. Which explains the blood. I don’t have the CD of images back yet, but hope to soon!
